FAQs

What is a frame? A frame is 9 1/8th inches tall.

What is a hive body? A hive body holds 10 frames.

Where do I get my bee equipment? I recommend Dadant & Sons of Fresno CA.

Do I need to bring frames?  Yes, you will need to bring the extra frames to fill out your hive body. You will need to bring 7 frames with you in each hive body per nuc ordered and the lids and bottoms for each.

Do I need to bring a box or lid? Yes you will need to bring your own box, frames, lid and bottom board.

Can I bring my old bee hive for you to refill? Yes. I will put my nuc in what ever combs and boxes you bring.

How many frames are in a nuc? Nucs can be of made up in any number of frames. The ones we sell are 3 frame nucs.

Do you have any used equipment that you can sell me? Yes I have some used equipment I can sell you. Ask Keith about that. 559 277 8456

What books do you recommend that I read to learn about honeybees? The ABC through XYZ of Bee Culture, The Hive and the Honeybee many are available.

Is delivery available? On some larger orders delivery is available at extra charge.

Can you ship these by the mail or ups or something? No. But they can be shipped mixed with another load of bees. Also a semi load can be shipped. A semi load is about 1000 of these 24 to a pallet in a refrigerated vehicle.
